We love making homemade inks from natural materials… painting grapes with grapes and acorns with acorns. Some of our “wild inklings” can be found here.
We also love hosting workshops to get people started in foraging and painting with wild colours of their own.
Our most recent event, a collaboration with the City of Quinte West for Ontario Culture Days, included creation of a microsite – full of resources to get you started making your own natural inks.
That website is now live at: PaintingWithPlants.ca
You can download the basic How-To handout from the paintingwithplants.ca site here.
Have fun, and let us know how your painting journey goes! Reach out to us anytime at hello@makersdozen.ca if we can help you along, or just to share your own “Wild Inklings”!
